From April 2011 the Mill will be opening regularly to the public and will be open the second Sunday of the month until September 2011. If you would like to join 'the friends' you will learn about the Mill's history, how it works, you could become a Mill Guide or just help with refreshments on open days. Organised Football for Boys, Girls & Men (ages 7 to 18). We have opportunities in all our teams for managers, players & people who want to help. We will welcome any ideas to improve football facilities in Hedingham. Youth players play on Sundays & Men play on Saturdays. The Society aims to provide an interest and awareness of the local environment, its history and its future. It generally meets the first Thursday of the month at 7.45pm at Castle Hedingham Memorial Hall. Membership costs: £10.00 single or £15.00 joint per year. Under 16's FREE. All talks and walks are free to member. Non Members pay £3.00. We have a very wide range of ages, abilities, and backgrounds and we sing in a variety of venues in the local area. We have 30 members, but we would love to welcome more, particularly men! Our repertoire is very diverse. We sing songs from the shows, popular ballads, classical and contemporary songs, church music - in fact there is something for everyone. We perform in local venues, although we are sometimes asked to go further a-field. We have performed some lovely concerts in Thaxted Church and Bardfield and we have recently returned from a weekend in our Twin Town of Choissy au Bac where we performed a concert and a church service. The Club meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month in Sible Hedingham Snooker Club Hall at 2.15pm. The club is for men and women aged 55 and over there is a £5 annual membership fee and a small fee on the day. Each month there is a different speaker or event and tea/coffee is served to everyone. For all those who aspire to write poetry, comic verse, plays, stage scripts, fiction, non-fiction, essays, articles song lyrics etc. Come to share and discuss your writing. Get inspired by given themes and exercises. We will also work towards publishing and anthology, producing a literary magazine and/or putting on local performance programmes.
